Online Recruitment

eRecruitment creates a range of benefits - online recruitment technology can reduce advertising costs, communicate with candidates who might otherwise not have contacted a potential employer and reduce the administrative burden of traditional recruitment.

What is online recruitment?

Online recruitment can be as simple as a series of dedicated webpages for a recruitment campaign (a recruitment microsite), can include a searchable database of job vacancies with an organisation, or an interactive application form to allow candidates to apply for vacancies online.

Recruitment microsites

A microsite is a dedicated set of web pages that can be used to communicate with candidates. It might be specific to a particular recruitment campaign (for example, recruiting customer service staff), targetted for a recurring recruitment (for example, graduate recruitment) or be a broad based site for all vacancies.

Recruitment microsites benefit from their separation from a company's general website, making navigation easier for potential candidates and ensuring a clean, crisp layout that is targetted to it's primary purpose.

Microsites can also be hosted on separate webspace with their own domain (for example - www.your-company-jobs.com), minimising the impact on your internal IT department. The site can of course include whatever branding is required.

Dedicated recruitment microsites can run alongside traditional press campaigns and are particularly effective when the press advert has a web address for a dedicated recruitment site - candidates no longer need to search a corporate website to find out more or get in touch.

Search engine optimisation becomes much easier, with keyword advertising (for example, campaigns run on Google Adwords or Microsoft Live Search) much easier to set up, manage and measure the return on investment.

Finally, advanced user tracking can be used to give detailed insight into how many people are visiting the site, which content they are most interested in and how they reach the website.

Online vacancy databases

Providing a searcable database of current vacancies can help candidates find roles that might be of interest to them.

Job vacancy databases can be particularly useful for organisations with a number of vacancies open at any time, or where the available vacancies change over time.

If you need to be able to update the list of available vacancies fairly often, a database can make this process much easier. One or more people can be given access to add, update and remove vacancies that appear, with each vacancy having associated information such as description, requirements etc.

For employers with a large number of vacancies, a search facility can be provided to allow candidates to find roles that are of interest to them.

Full audit trails and historical records can be maintained if required.

Online candidate application forms

Candidates can feel reluctant to complete traditional application forms. Online application forms can be designed to capture important information from candidates in a way that is easy to use yet well structured.

We can offer extensive help and support with the design of application forms that meet your needs.

When candidates complete an online application form, the information can be made available in realtime. If required, immediate email notifications can be sent when an application is received, or regular scheduled reports can provide the current number of applications.

Applications can also be managed online, with each application having associated status information that can be used for reporting. Candidates can also be notified automatically (either by email or SMS text message of your decisions - whether they have been successfully shortlisted or not.

If more than one person is involved in the recruitment process, each person can maintain their own shortlist of candidates for later discussion and comparison. If required, sophisticated decision rules can be implemented to reduce the management overhead - particularly important when the number of applications may become significant.

Advanced management reporting and export of data (for example to CSV files) enabled managers to retain control of the recruitment process and to assist with the decision making process.

Data can be held on either your own servers or secure servers that we can provide. Our servers are located in secure data centres and comply with security best practices.

Our approach

Most importantly, we work with our clients to help them understand the opportunities and benefits of web based recruitment technology and to identify the key priorities.

Our experience of website development and online technologies allows us to advise on the most suitable options for your requirements.

Search engine optimisation and advice is provided as standard with all our work. We can give advice or even help you manage an effective online advertising campaign, including detailed advice on maximising pay per click (CPC) advertising strategies. We also provide advice on monitoring the success of our work using website monitoring tools and can implement tools such as Google Analytics.

We don't provide the candidates - we help them find you and help you select the best candidates for your vacancies.
