Recommended Redundancy Factors and Weighting

Included in the spreadsheet is a list of factors we recommend as a basis for comparing and selecting employees. We have carefully considered the most appropriate factors by which employees can be selected for redundancy. This list has been simplified as far as possible whilst ensuring a complete set of attributes and criteria are included in our redundancy selection criteria matrix.

Each factor can be weighted according to the various importance for your organisation. Suggested weightings are provided that we believe are suitable for most organisations. If required, additional factors specific to your organisation can be added.

Detailed advice and guidance to help you make redundancy selections is included, explaining each selection criteria (factor) and how to score employees

Scoring Employees and Redundancy Selection

The list of employees that could be made redundant can be entered into the Excel spreadsheet. Each employee is scored against the various criteria in the matrix, with an overall score calculated automatically by the spreadsheet.

A ranked list of employees can be automatically generated based on the overall scores. From this, the employees to be made redundant can be selected, based on the number of redundancies required.

The spreadsheet is suitable for organisations who have up to one hundred employees who could be selected for redundancy. (If you need to consider more employees for redundancy, please contact us for advice on our solutions for larger organisations.) Please note that the spreadsheet is for guidance purposes and the results generated need to reviewed carefully before making final selections.
