This unsuccessful interview letter helps to quickly inform interviewed candidates you will not be taking their job application any further and will not be offering a job despite them having attended an interview.

This letter will help you reject job applicants post interview, thank them for attending an interview and outlines to interviewees:

  • That you are not offering them a job.
  • Why they have not be selected for the role.
  • Your reasons for choosing an alternative candidate for the post.
  • What information on them you will retain in your company records.
  • How long you will retain their details (meeting your data protection responsibilities).
  • Who they need to contact for interview feedback (or to discuss your job offer decline).

The letter also includes a variety of rejection responses to choose from when informing an applicant of your reasons for rejection (such as lack of knowledge, skills or experience, employment history and qualifications).
