  • Returning to work after maternity leave (e.g. 26 weeks OML or 52 weeks AML)
  • You do not intend to return to work (and you wish to resign)
  • Requesting flexible working (or part-time working) when you return

This letter will help you understand your rights as a mother and employee, and also give you a useable document with which to notify your employer of your decision to return to work after childbirth (or not return to work after giving birth).

This letter includes a number of pre-populated paragraphs from which to pick from dependent upon your circumstances and makes it really easy for you to confirm your decision to your employer.

Pre-populated paragraphs for you to choose include:

  • Returning during Ordinary Maternity Leave (OML) e.g. prior to or end 26 weeks.
  • Returning during Additional Maternity Leave (AML) e.g. prior to or end 52 weeks.
  • NOT returning to work (during both OML and AML).

Request Flexible Working: This document also includes a detailed paragraph giving you the option to request flexible working arrangements upon your return to work (which you are legally entitled to do).

By purchasing this document you will ensure you tell your employer everything they need to know about your return to work (or non return) and ensures to comply with legally prescribed timeframes in order to exercise your right to return to work, request flexible working and return on a particular date.

Using this document also helps you to exercise your right to return to the same job (returning in weeks 0-26 OML) or the right to return to a similar role (returning between weeks 26-52 AML).
