Dismissal for Gross Misconduct
On the rare occasion a situation may arise whereby you have no other option but to formally dismiss an employee with immediate effect (i.e. dismissal without notice). Typically this occurs in cases of Gross Misconduct.
In line with the 2009 Discipline and Dismissal Arrangements this standard letter ensures managers:
- confirm the formal disciplinary decision reached
- summarise contractual entitlements and obligations
- confirm immediate employment termination
- advise the right of appeal
- outline the reasons for and nature of unsatisfactory performance, conduct or behaviour
We have now made it even easier to confirm gross misconduct discipline dismissal.
This document now includes two letters for handling common types of gross misconduct dismissal:
- Letter 1 : confirms performance gross misconduct dismissal
- Letter 2 : confirms conduct and behaviour gross misconduct dismissal
